With the Start of the 2018 Air Race Classic only a little more than a month away, race fans are asking how they can follow their favorite racers across the country. Simple: with a real-time moving map right on the ARC website.
In cooperation with Air Race Classic partner MAProgress, the ARC website will display the 2018 race course overlaid on a map of the United States. Each stop is clearly marked; race fans can watch the racers' progress as they proceed along the course from historic Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas, to Alva, Oklahoma; Beatrice, Nebraska; Faribault, Minnesota; Galesburg, Illinois; Auburn, Indiana; Cadillac, Michigan; Newark, Ohio; Penn Yan, New York, and, finally, the Terminus at Eastern Slope Regional Airport in Fryeburg, Maine.
Next to the moving map is a list of all the race teams; by clicking on the race number, fans can call up information about each individual team, including racer bios, team name, airplane number and specs, position, speed and altitude.
Watch the Air Race Classic live starting at 8 a.m. Central Time on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
