Education

A significant part of our charitable mission is education. Every year we sponsor special events at our Start and Terminus locations to introduce young women to the world of aviation and aviation careers. Racers participate in these events to further highlight the possibilities for women. The Air Race Classic actively engages with colleges and universities across the country and into Canada to encourage them to field a Team as part of their aviation program. The lessons learned serve these collegiate women their entire career.

The core of our education program is the race itself. Registration and preparation require the racers to further their knowledge of aviation regulations and of the airplane they will be flying. Each Racer must complete one or more on-line education courses which are chosen to be relevant to that year's race route. The Start schedule includes extensive briefings on the race, the route and safety. And the race itself packs a wealth of learning opportunities into four days of intense competition.
