The Terminus

Welcome to KFNL, Northern Colorado Regional Airport. We are located 50 miles north of Denver, just minutes away from both award-winning historic downtown areas for Loveland and Fort Collins.

The Fort Collins – Loveland area is known for its craft beer industry, arts and entertainment scene and mix of outdoor activities. With 300 days of sunshine, snow-capped mountains, beautiful lakes and clear-running rivers, it's captivating year-round. KFNL is the nearest airport to Estes Park, base camp to the nationally acclaimed and breathtaking Rocky Mountain National Park, which is home to wildlife and miles of trails. We are a convenient drive to ski resorts like Vail, Copper Mountain, Winter Park, and Eldora Mountain. With more than 34,000 students, Colorado State University in Fort Collins offers 150 programs of undergraduate, masters, and doctoral studies, in addition to a professional degree in veterinary medicine.

The airport, along with the FBO (jetCenter), serves all aspects of the general aviation community from business aircraft to flight training. A new terminal building is under construction, opening in late 2024, to accommodate commercial flights. We are also home to the innovative Remote Air Traffic Control Tower project, which uses cutting-edge technology with cameras and radar to view and direct traffic.

The 2024 Terminus committee includes representatives from the Colorado Chapter 99s, Aims Community College WAI Chapter, Northern Colorado WAI Chapter, and local airport volunteers, with past racer Lydia Baldwin serving as the 2024 Terminus Chair. We look forward to hosting all of you at the airport and in Northern Colorado!

Your Terminus committee is planning a fun weekend of events: the Meltdown party celebration, Racer debriefings, and the annual ARC Awards Banquet. In between these events, take time to visit the surrounding area. While in Fort Collins and Loveland, enjoy live music, delectable restaurants and a variety of tourist, retail, novelty and confectionary shops

All Racers – be sure that you are familiar with the T-06 schedule!  Arrive by the Terminus deadline and plan for a great meltdown party to celebrate your race! Registration for Terminus events will open on April 15th - more details will be sent after your team registers. The deadline is May 31st.

Race Guests and Terminus Volunteers – Use the Terminus Events Registration Page for NON-RACERS (available on April 15th) to sign up for weekend events and to purchase merchandise and guest tickets. Deadline to purchase guest tickets is June 5.
