Fredericksburg-area teams happy with Air Race Classic

Two local teams in the Air Race Classic all-female air race came home with awards and happy memories, although neither finished in the top 10 on the scoreboard.
The race started June 22 from Stafford Regional Airport and finished in Fairhope, Ala., after nine legs and 2,200 miles. Four of the top six finishers were college teams, with Stephanie Armstrong and Jessica Reed of Southern Illinois University winning the race.
